Non Linear Editing

UltraStudio works with the world's most popular editing software and provides the highest quality connections so you can handle any video format your clients demand. Connect 12G-SDI to UltraStudio 4K models for Ultra HD, 4:4:4, 1080p60 HD or stereoscopic 3D capture and playback all from within the editing software itself. If your editing software does not support direct capture from hardware capture cards, then you can use the included Media Express software to capture a wide range of compressed and uncompressed video formats and file types. UltraStudio is also perfect for monitoring while you edit and color correct. UltraStudio supports DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro CC. You can connect client monitors to the UltraStudio video output so they can watch you work on big screen televisions! It also come with WDM drivers so it’s compatible with a massive range of affordable Windows software as well!

On Set Acquisition

Cinema quality video acquisition has never been simpler! When working on set with DaVinci Resolve, you can use the Resolve Live feature to grade live from your camera. Resolve Live allows you to add nodes and correctors, and then store those grades to link up with the camera media later. No matter what quality camera you use, there is an UltraStudio model with the connections to plug in directly and then grade live! You can also use UltraStudio to capture from cameras into specific, rare or custom file formats and codecs so you can use live capture to prepare media in real time for your post production workflow. UltraStudio works with any format and new file formats and codecs can be added as third party plug‑ins.

Visual Effects and Graphics

UltraStudio is perfect for VFX work because you can work in full color resolution RGB 4:4:4, which features full color bandwidth without any sub sampling so you get the sharpest and most seamless keys possible. Because UltraStudio captures and plays back DPX, DVI and QuickTime files, you can use your favorite VFX software such as Fusion, After Effects CC, Photoshop CC and more! UltraStudio includes a custom Photoshop CC plug‑in allowing you to grab frames from the video input and output still frames from within Photoshop CC to the video output, even in Ultra HD and 4K DCI on UltraStudio 4K models! When working with Photoshop CC and After Effects CC, UltraStudio uses RGB colorspace so you can't get illegal 100% RGB video levels, eliminating surprises when graphics are output to tape or presented to live production switchers! UltraStudio 4K takes advantage of the RGB colorspace to allow fill and key output for external keying of graphics and animation.

Audio Post

UltraStudio is perfect for audio post production when working on soundtracks for television commercials, episodic television production and feature films. UltraStudio includes multiple channels of analog audio, AES/EBU digital audio and 8 or 16 channels of embedded SDI audio depending on the model. All UltraStudio drivers work with the world's best audio post production solutions such as ProTools, Steinberg Nuendo and Cubase.

Media Play‑out Servers

UltraStudio Mini’s ½ and ⅓ width 1RU design is the perfect choice for playout servers because it can be installed in the same rack as a server. UltraStudio is compatible with a wide range of server software such as Tools On Air just:in, live:cut, just:play and just:live, Softron OnTheAir, MovieRecorder, OnTheAir CG and more! Use the built in keyer found in UltraStudio 4K Mini as a part of the playout workflow when layering graphics over live input. There is an UltraStudio model for all types of playout servers and with the built in LCD on the UltraStudio 4K models, you can always confirm correct playback from the server at all times so you know your program feeds are correct right at the playback source.

Presentation

With the massive 3840 x 2160 resolution of Ultra HD, UltraStudio 4K models can playback and connect to projectors for big screen presentations at incredible resolution and detail. Capture direct from cameras or live production switchers using UltraStudio and then integrate the captured high quality video into your live streaming workflow. With UltraStudio the first compression pass can be the streaming codec format so the quality is amazing! UltraStudio supports common streaming software such as Flash Media Live Encoder, Wirecast, Livestream Producer and Resolume Avenue. Live Production

UltraStudio is a powerful choice for use with live production switchers. The dual SDI output on UltraStudio 4K models can be used for generating fill and key output from RGB graphics and animations, or direct from Photoshop CC with the included plug in. Generate real time titling and graphics for live production on workstations and then present them to the switcher for use all in real time. If you need to do streaming or capture into custom video formats, then UltraStudio simply connects to the production switcher video output and then can capture live!
