DeckLink cards are perfect for use with routers because they include support for video, multi channel audio, timecode and close caption data, all down the single SDI cable. This saves costs on installing routers because the single SDI router can handle all the signal types without resorting to expensive multi level routers that cost millions! Different models of DeckLink cards support built in down conversion, so you can send feeds to systems that run separate SD and HD routers. Multi rate SDI connections also support newer router designs such as Blackmagic Design's Videohub range that allow multiple video formats on the same router at the same time.

Connecting to live production switchers is easy. If you're using DeckLink as a media player then you can run title software or animations in RGB using the DeckLink 4K Extreme model and output fill and key on the dual link SDI outputs. Each link can be connected to two switcher inputs, and the server can use the fill and key internally, to key these graphics live. The included Photoshop CC plug in also supports RGB graphics and alpha channels in your Photoshop CC graphics so you can update titles instantly for urgent on air graphics. DeckLink is also perfect for live streaming production switcher program outputs. Simply connect the switcher program or aux output to the DeckLink input and run your favorite streaming software.
